Super Sprint de Pré St Gervais (EPPG) 25 Jan 2015

EPPG Pré St Gervais Super Sprint Race report

First triathlon of the year done and dusted! A 300m swim in a lovely warm pool, 7km sweat-fest on the WattBike and finished off with a 2km lung-busting run.

[cml_media_alt id='47271']IMG_8176[/cml_media_alt]Big round of applause for Cat for not only being the first Expatriés lady home but 1st in VF and 3rd/28 lady overall. Louise had a fantastic swim, was off the bike before Cat, Kathryn and Marie-Anne but was hunted down on the run. And great to see Marie-Anne still sprinting 20m after she’d gone underneath the finishing arch![cml_media_alt id='47272']IMG_8184[/cml_media_alt]

The boys had a start wave all to themselves making the super sprint points competition all the more interesting. Great swim as expected by César, a major effort on the bike by Sean (thanks to being able to draft off Nick in the swim…) and helped by his winter training with a power meter. Sean was able to have enough of a cushion off the bike to hold off being chased down by others to be the first Expatriés home. Solid performances all round from Manuel, Chris, Philippe, Ed, Rosario, Paul G and David also given the state of everybody at the finish line. Super sprints are all about giving it all and everybody gave it ALL!

And a big thanks to all the Expatriés who couldn’t compete but came down to support especially Marie for all her cheering! A potential early candidate for the El Presidente’s Super Sprint Award!

Cheers
Sean

p.s. apologies if there’s any bias in the above 😉
