(English) Bike stores & Links

Some team experiences of Parisian bikes stores:

Cycles Saint Honore (1st): Genuine guys, will only fix whats broken, several folks in the club have bought bikes there, and they give a discount if asked. Carries Trek, Cannondale and Specialized bikes.

Triathlon Store (3rd): The Premium (and only) Tri shop in Paris, very pro – they carry Look and Felt bikes, and loads of stuff for the tri disciplines so worth checking it out, but you will leave having spent more than your budget with items you won’t need straight away.

Franscoop (11th):  Did a decent service job on a bike I didn’t buy at their store, although I’ve heard they have since refused to repair such a bike. Might have been during the busy season, or they couldn’t be bothered that day.

Cycles Laurent (11th): THE bike store in Paris and they have an attitude to match, often regarded as arrogant, difficult for non-french speakers – but they do know what they are doing.

Velo&Oxygene (17th): another one with attitude; I spent 2 hrs trying on carbon bike shoes without as much as a “bonjour” from the “sales staff”. They were busy chatting with their buddies. Carries Bianchi bikes.

Giant (4th and 12th): a mixed bag – friendly, but terrible at repairs (whereas the one in the 12th gets better comments from my friends). Of course, they carry only Giant bikes, but they have a decent selection of women’s bikes.
